Dr Sabine Richard

Dr. Sabine Richard works at the Institut de Génomique Fonctionnelle de Lyon (ENS de Lyon) as an INRAE researcher. She is exploring various aspects of behavioral neuroscience, with a focus on mammals and birds. Dr. Richard thinks that understanding how animals perceive and emotionally deal with their environment is critical not only to improve human consideration of animals, but also to improve the conditions under which humans interact with and utilize animals in diverse contexts. Besides her research, after investigating farm animals' emotional repertoires, Dr. Richard actively participates in the ethical evaluation of projects involving live animals. She enjoys sharing her knowledge and engaging in meaningful discussions with students, colleagues, and the general public to raise awareness and understanding of animal behavior and welfare and more generally to make science accessible to as many people as possible.
