Pr Bruno Allard
Bruno Allard is Professor of Physiology at University Lyon 1, working in the NeuroMyoGene Institute, a research unit funded by CNRS, Inserm, and University Lyon 1 and belonging to MyoNeurALP Alliance, a strategic pole of the AFM-Telethon. He served from 2014 to 2017 as reviewing editor in the Journal of Physiology and is currently member of the Scientific Council of AFM-Telethon. His area of expertise is cell electrophysiology and regulation of intracellular Ca2+ in skeletal muscle. His main research achievements have been accomplished by implementing voltage clamp at the whole cell and single channel level, cytosolic Ca2+ measurements and intraluminal SR Ca2+ imaging in isolated muscle cells from mouse but also from other animal such as C. elegans and zebrafish, to explore muscle excitability and excitation-contraction coupling in normal conditions and in the context of muscle disorders like Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy and Bethlem Myopathy.
