Dr Eglantine Heude

Dr. Eglantine Heude is a permanent CNRS researcher expert in Developmental and Evolutionary Biology. She has just created her team at the “Institut de Génomique Fonctionnelle de Lyon” (ENS de Lyon, September 2024) to develop her own research thematic investigating the developmental and evolutionary origins of tetrapods. Since her PhD, she has focused on the cellular and molecular mechanisms at the origin of a functional and integrated musculoskeletal system in vertebrates. The current research axes combine functional genomics, transcriptomics, comparative embryology and comparative anatomy approaches by studying different conventional and unconventional vertebrate models. Her team seeks to elucidate the morphogenetic bases of morphological innovations and musculoskeletal adaptions to new environments. Eglantine Heude has published 22 papers (citations > 800, H index 17). She is financially supported by the French National Research Agency for young researchers (ANR JCJC).
