Dr Léo Blervaque

Dr. Léo BLERVAQUE serves as the scientific officer of the Metropole Savoie Hospital (Chambéry). His responsibilities encompass the development of clinical research within the institution, provision of methodological and scientific support to medical and paramedical staff, and management of the clinical research department. He contributed during his PhD in the PhyMedExp lab (INSERM-CNRS-Montpellier University) and his post-doc in the LIBM lab (Chambéry) to projects using muscle biopsies to assess changes in skeletal muscle capillarisation in chronic lung and sickle cell diseases, and their reversibility through exercise training. Additionally, he has collaborated with the French cycling and rowing federations on a project funded by the French National Agency for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games (THPCA2024) to elucidate the significance of muscle capillarisation for high performance. He is now scientifically engaged in several clinical studies, sponsored by the Métropole Savoie hospital, aimed at demonstrating the importance of addressing muscle deficiencies and systematizing exercise training in conditions like cancer or ICU stays.
